The Boy Scouts is open to young men ages 11 to 18. The program provides opportunities for individual and group achievement through merit badge programs, rank advancement and community service projects. In addition, camping and outdoor activities are part of the Scout life. Dedicated to promoting self-discipline, goal-setting and achievement, personal growth, civic awareness and community volunteerism, the Boy Scouts provides an environment in which a young man can challenge himself physically, mentally and spiritually.
The mission statement of the Boy Scouts is this: "The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young men to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law."
The Scout Oath and the Scout Law are the cornerstones of the Boy Scout doctrine.
The Scout Oath
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;

Troop 43 of the Boy Scouts of America is located in the Tejas Caddo District of Circle Ten Council in North Texas. Troop 43 was established by the St. Thomas Aquinas Dad's Club in 1948, and has continually served the young men of our parish since then. Presently, the Troop is sponsored by the St. Thomas Aquinas Holy Name Society.
The Troop is "scout led" which means the boys run the weekly meetings, decide the calendar of events each year, raise funds to operate the troop, recruit new members and so forth.
The Troop meets at 6:00pm on Sunday evenings on the second floor of the preschool building. All interested persons are welcome to attend Troop meetings and activities.
